Paint Powder by Sweet Sticks is a revolutionary range of coloured dust that can ultimately be turned into a beautiful paint using our Paint Powder Activator. With a unique blend of 100% edible ingredients, it is super safe to add to your delicious cakes, cookies and CHOCOLATE! Thats right, they paint on chocolate. Our Paint Powders were formulated to be ideal for oil based products and are able to paint on most non porous surfaces.

Sweet Sticks Paint Powders are so versatile and can accomodate many different styles of cake decorating. You can ultimately choose your paint consistency or dust it. A little goes a long way with our Paint Powders, you only need 1/8 of a teaspoon of Paint Powders and Paint Powder Activator to cover a whole 250g Block of Chocolate. Which means you could cover 24 Blocks of Chocolate with 1 jar of Sweet Sticks Paint Powder.

Paint powders can be used on:

  • Swiss Meringue Buttercream
  • Royal icing
  • Buttercream
  • Ganache
  • Fondant
  • Sugar cookie
  • Gum paste

We recommend using our Paint Powders on dry and firm surfaces. Any Porous Surfaces will allow the alcohol in the Paint Powder Activator to absorb into your product and prevent it from drying.

Drying time can vary based on what surface you are painting on, how thick the coat is and humidity levels. For a quicker dry time we recommend thin coats and avoid painting in high humidity conditions. Drying needs to be done by air drying. If not air dried correctly you may be left with an after taste. Be sure to have it touch dry before placing it into the fridge. When dry your surface will be rub free and tasteless.

Brushes play a big role in your overall quality finish. If using a cheap quality brush you may be left with brush strokes and an uneven finish. Invest in quality brushes if you can.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Activator sets dry to the touch. Which you cannot achieve this finish using rose spirit.

Our original activator is designed for paint powders and can be used with our lustres. 

Activator + Paint Powders
- Place 1/8 teaspoon of paint powder you need into your palette and
- Add 1/8 teaspoon of your activator
- Mix until it forms an acrylic paint like consistency

Activator + Lustre:
- Using our Wide Flat #12 brush apply activator all over your surface. Less is best !
- Go over the wet area with our dry Lustre Brush #14  and apply the lustre by dabbing over the area and brush away any loose dust.
